A compact form of hydrangea paniculata suitable for smaller gardens. The leaves emerge mid- to deep green, quite early, on attractive red stems. Large, conical, white flowers, some showy sterile ones and some, fertile ones, which age to pink, late summer-early autumn. Can be grown in a large container. Leave the flowers over winter to protect next year’s buds in cooler areas. Ht 1.5m (5ft). Needs shelter from cold, drying wind. Moist but well drained soil. Sun or part shade.
