Cornus mas ‘Red Star’

A Ukrainian variety selected for its large red, edible fruits growing to about 3-5 meters in height. Abundant small yellow flws in early spring, before the leaves appear in March-April. Purple-red fruit, sweet and sour, tasty are a perfect raw material for candies, juices, jams, jellies and tinctures. Hardy. Grows well grown on medium-fertile, moderately moist and well-drained soils. It is resistant to drought and urban conditions, but does not tolerate flooding. Prefers sun.
