Xanthorhiza simplicissima

‘Yellow Root’. Small suckering shrub forming a thicket of erect stems upto 3ft. Very attractive, deeply toothed leaflets. Turning to a burnished bronze with purple cast in autumn. Delicate deep purple flws in drooping panicles. Flws, Mar-Apr. Thrives in moist or clay soil.
