Hydrangea serrata ‘Akabe yama’

Elegant form from Korea. Erect, compact habit growing approx.100 cm high and wide. The foliage is narrow, bright green with darker margins, turning reddish shades in autumn. Lacecap flws, consisting of a central cushion of fertile pink or blue flowers, depending on the pH of the soil, surrounded by a ring of sterile white flowers which are then pigmented in light pink. Flws: end of June until late August. Prefers light half-shade positions with morning or late-day sunshine and moist, well-drained soils. It flowers on previous years wood.
