‘Bugle Lily’. Native bulb to South Africa which deserves to be more widely grown in the UK. Clumps of sword-shaped leaves and delicate, soft-apricot coloured flowers which do indeed resemble a bugle and are borne on a tall spike-like inflorescence. Produces small corms at the leaf axils after flowering. Ht 3.5ft (1m). Well drained soil sunny position. Grow as for dahlia and gladioli – lift corms in the autumn.
