Pinus parviflora ‘Saphir’

A slow growing form of Japanese white pine with silver/green short needles that appear almost turquoise and are held in stiff upright bunches. Red male flowers appear in spring, followed by tan-coloured female cones. Suitable for small gardens or pot culture. Rarely seen in the UK. Ht and spr after 5 – 6 years 1m x 40cm. Mature ht and spr after 15 – 20 years 2m x 1.2m. Acid- neutral soil.
