Ruby Sharp
Ruby Sharp is a potter from Buckinghamshire, who has a long established career of making and teaching . The new work is inspired by Ruby’s love of nature and botany. The shapes are thrown, then burnished and polished to give a beautifully smooth surface. The pots are pit fired, an ancient technique embedding the one fired work with various combustible materials, which create colours, patterns and markings on each piece making each one totally unique. ‘ I also regularly provide talks and practical workshops for the public in renowned museums and galleries, including the Sir John Soane Museum and the Tate Modern. The workshops help people towards an understanding of the expertise behind the galleries’ cherished artefacts’
