Acer palmatum ‘Little Red’

A small, compact, upright tree with leathery, lace-like, palmate, deeply lobed, red leaves, bright red in spring, deep maroon in summer, and fiery red in autumn. Mature height 2-2.5m. Grows best in fertile, organically rich, slightly acidic, moist and well-drained soils. Best in partial shade, but can withstand full sun. Needs to be sheltered form harsh winter winds. Great for beds and borders. Excellent for growing in pots and containers.
