Sycopsis sinensis

Large evergreen/semi evergreen shrub or small tree. Dense, upright habit. Small clusters of yellow stamens enclosed by chocolate brown bracts. Flws: Feb-March. Requires same conditions as Hamamelis. Moist peaty soil, part shade.
