A lovely Japanese species. Shrubby, compact habit. Ht upto 6ft. Pink flws produced in abundance. Flws: Mar-Apr. Small incisely toothed leaves, beautifully tinted in autumn. Used by the Japanese for Bonsai. Any reasonable soil. Sunny position. Protect from early spring frosts.
