Magnolia ‘Sweet Merlot’

A deciduous, multi branched tree with a pyramidal form, producing globe shaped, claret-red flowers with paler insides in April. Moist, slightly acidic, well-drained soils. Provide sheltered site as buds and flowers may be damaged by cold winds, and late frosts. Ht 4m x 3m in 10 years.
