Reindert Overduin studied at art school in the Netherlands before travelling to France, where he developed a lasting connection with ceramics and chose to pursue the medium more seriously. He is now based in Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie, a village near Nîmes with a rich history of traditional craftsmanship.
Working within this established ceramic tradition, Overduin brings a distinctive sense of energy and joy to his practice. His pieces are characterised by vibrant colour, lively decoration, and a clear appreciation for the tactile qualities of clay. Drawing on traditional forms, he reinterprets them with a playful and contemporary approach.
Using a range of brightly coloured slips and glazes, his work is both expressive and functional—designed to be enjoyed in everyday use while celebrating the enduring appeal of handmade pottery.
