Lesley Banks is a Glasgow-based painter and graduate of the Glasgow School of Art. She has been painting for over 25 years and has exhibited widely, receiving numerous awards and recognitions throughout her career.
Her practice is rooted in landscape, often developed through travel and direct observation. Her work explores atmosphere and place, with recent paintings drawing on scenes from Italy and Spain, where light, weather, and shifting conditions shape the mood of each composition.
Banks has undertaken a residency painting the Scottish Canals and has been shortlisted for the Westmorland Landscape Prize.
