Annette Vernon

Fossil

The main range Annette is displaying at the Red Barn is named ‘Fossil’. They are imprints of real fish or plants that have been encased and ‘burned’ into the glass before either being slumped into a shape, or used to create a wall hanging.

Annette is a glass artist from Preston, no two items she produces are ever the same and occasionally they turn out as she envisaged! She has been inspired by the many glass artists she has met, or whose work she has seen. However, her main inspiration is the glass itself, and its many different facets – reflection, transparency, shadow, opalescence, depth and colour. Its mobility when hot – its fragility when cold.
