ARTIST STATEMENT
I aim to maintain a sense of quality and fairness throughout my practise, ensuring my products have no hidden detriment to others or costs to the environment.

I design each jewellery piece and it is handmade to a high level of craftsmanship in the UK by myself and my team. I believe in making items that people love and will make sure that you are 100% happy with your purchase.

FAIRTRADE GOLD
I have chosen to support the Fairtrade Goldsmiths Scheme by offering my products in Fairtrade Gold. Fairtrade Gold has a traceable supply chain not available when using regular sources.

According to recent figures 100 million people worldwide depend on small scale mining for their survival. These small scale operations are poorly regulated meaning mine workers may be paid very little for working long hours in dangerous conditions. Gold is often extracted using toxic chemicals such as mercury and the land is frequently stripped of resources to the detriment of local agriculture and wildlife.

Fairtrade certified mines operate to Fairtrade Standards and receive the Fairtrade Minimum Price and Premium to spend on improving their business or on community projects. They include strict requirements on working conditions, health and safety, handling chemicals, women’s rights, child labour and protection of the environment. Mines must follow local laws to protect their environment and are required to restore their sites once operations have finished.
