Sarcococca hookeriana ‘Winter Gem’

A new hybrid form crossing S. hookeriana var. digyna ‘Purple Stem’ with S. hookeriana var. humilis. It has larger than average leaves, which are a glossy, rich green. Highly scented white flowers with pink anthers opening from dark pink buds, late winter-April followed by red berries that ripen to black. Ht and spr1.5m (5ft). Makes an excellent hedge, responds well to clipping. Any fertile soil, part shade.
