Ilex colchica (female)

(Black Sea Holly) Ilex colchica is a rare, large, evergreen shrub with quite narrow, short stalked, polished dark green leaves. Clusters of small white flws, Apr-May. Profuse bright red berries when pollinated by a male plant. Ht 8-10ft. Fertile, slightly acidic, moist but well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Protect from strong winter winds.
