Corylus ferox var tibetica

A very distinctive and rare hazelnut from China. A large multistemmed shrub or small tree with deeply parallel veined foliage, pale-grey downy on the underside, and pretty pink male catkins in spring. Followed the extremely spiny hedgehog like fruit clusters in autumn. Ht10m.
