Corylus avellana ‘Cosford’

A mid-sized shrub or small tree with green leaves turning yellow in autumn. It bears yellow catkins in spring and abundant (hazel) nuts in autumn. Slightly larger than the cobnut with a long husk ( full beard ). Considered to be of a superior quality to the cob. Ht 3m. Any reasonable soil. Sun/ part shade.

Grown in the ground and autumn potted.
