Castanea – Chestnut ‘Regal

Chestnut Regal is an attractive tree, more compact than other Sweet Chestnuts, growing to 5m in 10 years. Shiny green leaves and fragrant blossom in summer, followed by delicious brown nuts in October. Happier planted on lighter soils, acid to neutral is best, avoid chalk if possible. They dislike waterlogged soils.
