Carpinus betulus 10-12 std – pleached screen 180 x 120

These hornbeam have been trained ‘pleached’ on a tall clear stem with frame 180cm x 120cm. They make a excellent contemporary green backdrop to other smaller trees and shrubs or as a “hedge” above the fence or wall line. Dark green leaves turn yellow and orange in autumn. Sun or part shade. and are hardy. They cope well with windy positions and can be grown in heavy clay soils.
