Betula utilis var. jacquemontii ‘Jermyns’

A vigorous, medium sized tree with mahogany coloured young branches that turn dazzling-white with long horizontal lenticels as the peeling bark matures. Very long catkins in early spring, in a warm sheltered garden these can be 10+ cm long. Sun, well drained soil.
