Acer palmatum ‘Shishio hime’

A very lovely dwarf variety that grows much wider than tall, forming a low mound with age. Emerges in spring with red tips to the leaves before maturing green and then turning reds, yellows and oranges in autumn. The leaves become smaller each year as the plant matures. Older specimens have some of the smallest leaves of any Acer palmatum. The foliage is also extremely dense. Ht: 1-3 ft x spr: 4-6 ft
