Marion Kuit

Marion Kuit is a printmaker and member of Lake Artists and Cumbria Printmakers, regularly exhibiting with both groups. Working primarily in lino and woodcut, she produces small editions of prints using a nineteenth-century Columbian press.

Her work draws on a diverse range of imagery, from scientific diagrams and distorted organic forms to everyday objects, often incorporating a subtle sense of humour to evoke feelings of puzzlement or unease. Her longstanding interest in science fiction informs her distinctive visual language, inviting the viewer to look beyond the familiar and question what they see.

More recently, Marion has explored themes of abandonment, decay and disintegration, drawing inspiration from torn net curtains, damaged packaging, melted plastic and discarded industrial materials. Through these unexpected subjects, she finds beauty and intrigue in the overlooked and deteriorating, creating images that balance the familiar with the unsettling.

Marion has exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, the Royal Scottish Academy Open Exhibition, the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists and the Ferens Art Gallery, as well as in Small but Mighty at Bankside Gallery. She continues to exhibit regularly throughout the Lake District and beyond, including with Cumbria Printmakers at Farfield Mill, Sedbergh.
