Debbie Barber is a ceramic artist based in Leicestershire. Her work is informed by a background in textiles, alongside an enduring interest in pattern, surface and the colours found in the natural and built environment.
Over a significant period, Debbie specialised in naked raku, smoke firing and other alternative firing techniques, producing richly textured ceramic forms inspired by these experimental processes. These works—examples of which are held in earlier collections—form an important part of her artistic development and visual archive.
Her practice has since evolved, moving beyond these firing methods while continuing to explore surface, form and material expression in new directions.
