Carl Fitton is an accomplished draughtsman specialising in highly detailed animal studies. Working primarily in pencil, his drawings demonstrate a keen observation of form and character, capturing the individuality of each subject with precision and sensitivity.
After studying Art to A-Level, Fitton completed a BTEC Foundation at Cumbria College of Art & Design before going on to earn a degree in Design Studies. Although his artistic practice developed alongside a varied early career, he continued to refine his skills through commissions and personal work.
Since 2013, Fitton has exhibited widely across Cumbria, presenting work in both solo and group exhibitions. He has also been recognised as a Derwent Ambassador, reflecting his expertise in pencil-based media. Alongside his graphite work, he explores colour pencil and digital techniques, demonstrating a confident versatility in his practice.
