Ornamental shrubby cherry. Flws from mid to end of April just before the leaves have emerged. Masses of large flws, pink in bud opening to white. Deciduous. Hardy. Ht to 1.2 m (4ft). Ideal for growing in a pot or tub. Small leaves, colouring well in autumn. Makes an unusual hedge. Can be used for bonsai. Any reasonable soil. Sunny position. Protect from early spring frosts.
