Polystichum makinoi

A medium to large-sized evergreen fern forming a tidy non-spreading mound of arching, triangular fronds that are dark green and glossy. Ideal for use as a woodland specimen or for massing as a groundcover. Somewhat stately and formal in appearance. Prefers a rich soil that remains evenly moist. Native to China and Japan. Tolerates hot and humid summers well.
