Acer palmatum ‘Metamorphosa’

A compact, deciduous shrubby Japanese Maple with deeply-cut, five- or seven-lobed leaves that emerge yellow in spring with a reddish-pink edge maturing to light green with a pale pink edge to mid-green with a white edge as summer progresses. The foliage turns orange-red in late summer before finally turning red-violet in autumn. Ht expected 2-3m (new variety so known). Sun/ part shade. Well drained neutral to acid soil.
