Vernonia lettermannii

A clump-forming perennial with upright, smooth, leafy stems to 80cm high. Leaves are narrow and threadlike. In late summer (Sept-Oct), flattened clusters of small violet flowers are produced on branched stems above the foliage. Followed by grey-brown seedheads. Ht 1-1.2m. Fertile soil.
