Panicum virgatum ‘Thundercloud’

One of the tallest of the Switchgrass family, forming superb, majestic architectural clumps of steely-blue green. Upright, linear, leaves, topped by elegant weeping panicles of small, pinkish-tan flushed flowers in late Summer into Autumn. As the year progresses both flowers and foliage darken to a yellowy golden bronze, making for beautiful ornamental displays in Autumn and providing cover for birds. Ht 2m x spr 1m. Moist but well drained soil. Sunny position.
