An attractive evergreen subshrub with trailing or climbing stems of glossy green leaves and large rinflated scarlet, tubular flowers, Jun-Aug. Ht to 1.8m. Southern Andes. Very striking. Sun or shade, good soil. Needs winter protection in coldest localities. Protect from cold winds. Similar/ same as coccinea ?.
