Hydrangea aspera ‘The Ditch’

Compact , reasonably small velvet hydrangea , like a smaller version of the popular villosa. Blooms late July and August with medium flat umbels composed of soft lilac pink sterile florets and intense violet purple colored fertile flowers inside . Ht 1.5-1.8m. Light shade , sheltered from harsh winds. Moist soil.
