Carpinus caroliniana ‘Red Fall’

A new selection of the native American Hornbeam for its spectacular autumn colour. Red new growth turns green in summer and then intense orange-red colours in the autumn. ‘Red Fall’ is a densely branched medium-sized tree with a slightly irregular, conical to broadly conical crown. Ht 8-12 m tall. Grows best in humus-rich loamy soils.
