Calycanthus ‘Hartlage wine’ AGM

A rare and much sought after deciduous shrub. Lightly scented, maroon flowers up to 7½ cm across, May-Jun. Good autumn colouring -yellow shades. Ht 8ft. Full sun or light dappled shade. Moist but well drained fertile soil. Not suitable for shallow chalky soils. Protect from cold winds.
