Jacqui Atkin
We are also the ceramics of Jacqui Atkin, who has her own gallery and studio in Shropshire. Jacqui has a 20 year career as a potter as well as teaching and writing several books on ceramic techniques. She is currently producing some fascinating work, decorative coiled and slab built forms which are inspired by botanical imagery and include exciting textural surfaces and involve many techniques. Retro designs and sgraffito line drawn patterns make these multi-coloured vases and plates stand out from the crowd.
‘Inspiration for form and pattern is drawn from many sources but the view from my studio window which looks out over my garden and the woodland beyond in rural Shropshire has the most enduring influence, ever changing with the seasons, a rich palette of colour and shape. ‘
