Terre Di Scirocco
Terre di Scirocco is an Italian ceramics studio founded in 1999 by Annalisa Testa and Gennaro Borriello. Established through a shared passion for craftsmanship, the duo combined their respective backgrounds—rooted in artisanal ceramic training and fine art—to develop a collaborative practice grounded in both tradition and experimentation.
In its early years, the studio operated from a small workshop, focusing on the creation of bespoke, one-of-a-kind pieces commissioned directly by private clients. This period laid the foundation for their technical expertise and close relationship with material and form.
By 2006, with the move to a larger studio, Testa and Borriello began to refine a more distinctive visual language. Their work became increasingly driven by research into materials, surface treatments, and form, resulting in a synthesis that bridges historical ceramic traditions with a contemporary aesthetic. Their pieces are characterised by innovative use of colour, luminosity, and sculptural shape, expanding the expressive potential of ceramic practice.
Since 2008, when they first presented their work at international design fairs including MACEF, the studio has gained wider recognition. Terre di Scirocco continues to exhibit nationally and internationally, where their work has attracted the attention of collectors, audiences, and critics alike.
