Chaenomeles japonica ‘Cido’

A new variety of Japanese flowering quince from Latvia, bred for its large fruits which are very high in Vitamin C. A small shrub with orange flowers in spring and apple-sized, yellow fruits in abundance that ripen in September/ October. Thornless. The fruits have exceptional flavour and you can be used for delicious syrup, jelly or jam. This variety needs a second one for cross pollinization. Ht 1.5m. Moist, fertile soil. Best in full sun for good fruit quality.
