Vernonia ‘Summer Swan Song’

A fantastic late flowering perennial producing heads of dark purple flowers, Sept-Oct followed by foxy red brown seed heads which remain well into the winter. Compact form- Ht 3ft. Sunny, well drained moist site. A native wildflower of eastern North America. Flowers are excellent for cutting. Attractive to bees/butterflies.
