Tilia cordata ‘Winter Orange’

A medium to large tree with a broadly oval crown at maturity, and heart-shaped matt green leaves in summer, turning butter yellow in autumn. Ivory white sweetly scented flowers in July. An outstanding plant with red buds and pronounced orange twigs and shoots in winter. Grows readily on light or heavy soils and will put up with temporarily soaking ground. Avoid growing in very dry conditions or exposure to very strong winds. Prune hard in March or April. Ht 4m in 10 years.
