Magnolia tripetala

Deciduous, open tree, conical when young. Has large, dark green leaves, clustered at shoot tips, and rather unpleasantly scented, creamy white flowers with narrow petals in late spring and early summer. Requires full sun and well drained soil. Height 12m. Sp 7m.
