A dwarf form of the oakleaf hydrangea. Flws open pure white, then turn a rich pink, so that many shades are present at once on the shrub. Flws: Jun-Jul. Ht 2-3ft. Foliage turns from dark green to rich red-mahogany in autumn. Although very large the flws stand up to the rain well. Attractive peeling brown bark keeps it interesting even in winter. Neutral to acid, moist soil. Sun or part shade.
