Endemic to the island of Santa Maria in the Azores. Rarely offered. One of the most spectacular of the shrubby Euphorbias, similar to Euphorbia mellifera with its handsome broad lime-green foliage with distinct pale mid-rib and exotic appeal. Heads of honey scented, lime green flws. Ht upto 1.8 m, spr 2m. Sheltered, well-drained sunny location. Hardy in more favoured locations. Needs winter protection in extreme winters or more northerly or inland locations. Mulch heavily. Can withstand temperatures down to -10°C.
