Acer cissifolium is a small tree with trifoliolate, bronze tinted leaves which turn red and yellow in autumn, branches grey and smooth, bark dotted with red. Similar to Acer henryi but margins of the leaflets are coarsely toothed. Prefers an acid soil. May reach 20-30ft (6-9m).
