This is a very varied and interesting position.
We are looking for someone with good communication and organisational skills to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the business. You must be self motivated and be able to complete jobs without supervision. We are looking for a friendly face that is Larch Cottage, giving the ‘personal touch’ and dealing with customers needs on an individual basis, trying to achieve a quality experience for all.
This is a varied job due to the diverse nature of our business and an interesting one.
MAIN DUTIES include:
Staff , responsible for administration of staff related activities, processes, time-sheets, payroll, pensions, employee contracts, job descriptions, holidays & performance reviews.
Office Administration , responsible for the day to day running of the office, managing the various processes related to the management of Larch Cottage including DEFRA, Rural payments, vehicle licenses, utility & insurance contracts, PCI and purchasing of resources for the business, such as horticultural supplies.
Finance , responsible for counting the weekly takings across the business and updating cashbook & depositing the cash at the bank. Responsible for producing the Landscaping invoices
Customers , to assist customers, via email and telephone (or occasionally in person around the nursery) and maintain a high standard of customer service at all times. Customer complaints.
Restaurant , responsible for working with the restaurant on inventory, pricing & suppliers and recording the monthly reviews.
Mail Order responsible for dealing with orders and enquiries both over the phone and by email.

To ensure compliance with relevant legislation and all Health & Safety Guidelines at all times
Undertake any other duties which may be reasonably allocated by the Office Manager or Senior Management
Normal hours of work are 10am-5pm Monday-Thursday. 10am-3pm on Friday. (this may vary slightly, seasonally)

We are looking for a 'team player' ! Someone with proven kitchen experience and a passion for good food. We are a continental bistro style restaurant in a unique setting which could be more Umbria than Cumbria!
We are open daily from 9.30am until 5pm.
You must be passionate about quality food, fresh ingredients and delivering outstanding menus. Everything is freshly prepared on site daily, from scones and breads to cakes and main dishes. Although we do not serve meat the menu does incorporate 'fish'. Our menu is inspired by Italian and continental cuisine to offer intense flavour from simple and fresh ingredients.
We have an organic vegetable garden on site and try to produce as much as possible to serve the restaurant during the summer months.We are a family run business and offer a unique, quality day out for all with nursery, gardens, restaurant and shop on site.
The business has been built up over 31 years and continues to grow organically year on year. A truly inspiring place!

Be motivated and passionate about preparing food and delivering fantastic cuisine using seasonal produce where possible.
Be familiar with the 'Safer Food, Better Business' paperwork.
Relish working in busy / fast paced environments and achieving deadlines

Responsible for ordering and liasing with suppliers for best prices
Have the ability to work logically and methodically without the need for close supervision.
Be flexible to help out in all areas of the restaurant if need be
Be responsible for menu costings, health and safety, hygiene etc
Day time hours, straight shifts. Normal hours are 8am-5pm, 5 days per week. Maybe longer during busy periods.Good rate of pay for suitable candidate.This is a great opportunity for the right applicant with a can do attitude looking for a new challenge and personal growth.
